CASA GUCI is situated about 720 km north of Maputo. Our coast and the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago, strung like pearls in the Indian Ocean, offer miles and miles of pristine sand beaches and tropical warm water.
CASA GUCI is a small and personable German lodge situated next to the historic site of Chibuene, just a few kilometres south of the coastal town of Vilanculos (also spelled Vilankulo to confuse the traveller) with its interesting mix of original Mozambican/African flair and exclusive holiday resorts.
Many great activities, foremost diving, horse riding and island safaris, make the best of this impressive setting and CASA GUCI is the perfect base to enjoy all the fascinating attractions on offer. In our restaurant and bar you will regularly meet divers and horse riders, who will discuss their daily experience and further plans with their instructors and guides and we will assist you to make up your own varied program. Or you may just relax by the pool in our beautiful gardens or on the beach…
We proudly offer an atmosphere of comfort, friendly personal attention and we will make you feel much more at home than you could be in a larger hotel. To make things easier for our international guests, the German owner and manager also speaks fluent English, French and Portuguese.
CASA GUCI was built in the early 2000’s with the intention to create a home away from home. The chalets are comfortable and practical, the gardens are beautiful and we have managed to preserve the indigenous bush with the addition of a multitude of local tropical plants and palm trees. While we are only 100 meters away from the sea, you will enjoy the well protected atmosphere of our natural setting.
Vilanculos has a brand new international airport with daily connections to Johannesburg. The national roads from Maputo are finally in very good condition and traveling by car is now very easy.
Motor bike tourists and Africa travellers are especially welcome and we will always have a camping spot ready for you.
